Area Golfers Finish Season at Districts
Area Golfers Shine at Division I East/Southeast District Tournament
LANCASTER — The Division I Girls East/Southeast District Golf Tournament was held Thursday at Lancaster Country Club, showcasing strong performances from several area athletes.
Minerva earned the right to represent the region at next week’s state tournament after capturing the team title with a score of 378. Marietta and Circleville rounded out the top three teams.
Three golfers from the Frontier Athletic Conference (FAC) represented their schools and league well. Washington Court House’s Faith Wynne and Aubrey Arnold of Jackson each tied for third place individually, both carding an 82 on the course.
Ellie Beck-Aden of Athens claimed the district’s individual qualifying spot for the state tournament, finishing with a 79. Kaylin Sterling of Greenfield McClain shot a 95, placing 13th overall.
Wynne, Arnold, and Sterling are all seniors this year and will be greatly missed on the links as they conclude outstanding high school golf careers.
