FAC Announces 2026 Spring Sports All-Conference Honors, Players of the Year

The Frontier Athletic Conference recognized some of the area’s top athletic performances of the spring season as the league announced its 2026 All-FAC honors across boys tennis, baseball, softball, and track and field.
Conference championships were decided in tightly contested races, while standout individual athletes left their mark on the season by earning Player of the Year honors.
Boys Tennis: Flores Leads Chillicothe to FAC Title
Chillicothe edged Jackson to claim the 2026 FAC Boys Tennis Championship, finishing with 48 points, narrowly ahead of the Ironmen’s 46 in one of the closest conference races of the spring.
Leading the Cavaliers was Noah Flores, who earned FAC Player of the Year honors after capturing the conference singles championship. Chillicothe also landed Elijah Yandilla and Yohan Abreu on the First Team All-FAC list.
Jackson nearly matched the Cavaliers point-for-point and was heavily represented among the conference’s top players with Christian Burcham, Fernando Villabrille, Grady Massie, Landon Profitt, Joel Carroll, and Jayce Moore all earning First Team recognition.

Softball: Chillicothe, Jackson Share FAC Crown; Rittinger Named POY
The 2026 FAC softball season concluded with co-champions as Chillicothe and Jackson each finished 9-1 in conference play, sharing the league title following an impressive season from both programs.
Chillicothe’s CJ Rittinger was named FAC Player of the Year, leading a Cavaliers squad that placed three additional players on the First Team All-FAC roster: Vivian Morgan and Cadie Boltenhouse.
Jackson, co-champions of the conference, saw Lillie Eberts, Maddie Wright, Serenity Taylor, and Izzy Swisher earn First Team honors.
Miami Trace placed a pair of players on the top team with Kaylee Everhart and Zoey Grooms, while Olivia Stegbauer represented McClain and Chloe Roberts earned recognition for Hillsboro.
Honorable mention selections included Leah Lovett and Brie Cummins of McClain, as well as Addley Miller and Peyton Spurlock from Hillsboro.

Baseball: Jackson Captures Title Behind Seimetz
Jackson claimed the 2026 FAC baseball championship, finishing 9-1 in conference play and placing multiple athletes among the conference’s best.
Ironmen standout Ryan Seimetz earned FAC Player of the Year honors, headlining a First Team group that included teammates Bodhi Wolford and Eli Ray.
Runner-up Miami Trace featured a trio of First Team selections with Gage Bowers, Austin Brown, and Brody McBee earning honors after helping the Panthers to an 8-2 conference finish.
McClain was represented by Easton Ary, Connor Chandler, and Carson Chandler, while Sam Lotz represented Washington Court House.
Hillsboro’s Jack Cornele and Luke Holland rounded out the First Team selections.
Honorable Mention honorees included Eshon Brown (Chillicothe), Aden Osborne (Washington), Rylan Wyant (Jackson), and Cooper Enochs (Miami Trace).

Girls Track & Field: Miami Trace Dominates; Kovalchik Earns Top Honor
Miami Trace turned in a dominant performance to win the 2026 FAC Girls Track & Field Championship, scoring 197 points to finish comfortably ahead of the field.
Panther standout Abigail Kovalchik was named FAC Girls Track Athlete of the Year after claiming First Team honors in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 100-meter hurdles, while also contributing to Miami Trace’s championship relay teams (4 x 100 M Relay - Bella Shull, Abigail Kovalchik, Emma Hoppes, Lily Siler).
Distance standout Alli Knecht earned multiple First Team nods after winning the 800-meter and 1600-meter runs and helping power Miami Trace relay success (4 x 400 M Relay: Lily Siler, Aubrey Creed, Emma Hoppes, Alli Knecht - 4 x 800 M Relay: Karleigh Cooper, Tori Peterson, Ava Shull, Alli Knecht).
Other event champions included Olivia Covault of Hillsboro (400-meter dash, 4 x 200 M Relay: Meredith Dietrick, Kobie Miles, Alizeh Hudson, Olivia Covault), Gabby Maranzana of Chillicothe (3200-meter run), Mylie Lovett of McClain (high jump), Lillian Mapes of Jackson (long jump), Becca Bergstrom of McClain (pole vault), Laveah Hudson of Chillicothe (discus), and Parker Curtis of Jackson (shot put).

Boys Track & Field: Beverly Powers Chillicothe Championship Run
Chillicothe captured the 2026 FAC Boys Track & Field Championship with 153 points, edging Miami Trace in a highly competitive meet.
Cavalier standout Jayden Beverly was named FAC Boys Track Athlete of the Year after dominating distance events, earning First Team honors in the 800-meter, 1600-meter, and 3200-meter runs, while also helping Chillicothe’s 4x800 relay team (Jayden Beverly, Payne Huggins, Grayson Roberts, Levi Wood) to top honors.
Miami Trace countered with standout performances from Will Enochs (200 Meter Dash), Janson Smith (400 Meter Dash), and Kooper Hicks (110 Meter Hurdles, 300 Meter Hurdles), who combined for multiple individual and relay championships (4 x 100 Meter Relay: Jadin Armstrong, Hayden Cornell, Will Enochs, Julian Baker - 4 x 400 Meter Relay: Janson Smith, Will Enochs, Bodie Gurr, Kooper Hicks).
Additional First Team honorees included Cartae Ligon of Chillicothe (100-meter dash), CJ Crabtree of Jackson (high jump), Andrew Young and Cooper Heidler of Washington Court House (long jump and pole vault), and Trace McAllister of Chillicothe, who swept the throwing events in the shot put and discus.

The 2026 spring season once again showcased the depth of talent across the Frontier Athletic Conference, with championship teams and standout individual performances highlighting another competitive year in FAC athletics.
FAC Student-Athletes Celebrate College Commitments Across Conference
The Frontier Athletic Conference continued its tradition of athletic excellence during the 2025-26 school year as dozens of student-athletes from across the league announced their commitments to continue both their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Schools from throughout the FAC — Chillicothe, Hillsboro, Jackson, McClain, Miami Trace and Washington Court House — were represented by athletes signing with programs ranging from NCAA Division I universities to NAIA and Division III institutions.
The commitments showcase the depth of talent across the conference in a wide variety of sports including football, basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, wrestling, bowling, track and field, swimming, cheerleading and more.
Chillicothe Cavaliers
Chillicothe celebrated three college commitments, led by standout wrestler Cannan Smith, who signed with Ohio University. Joining Smith were Jett McAllister, who will compete in track and field at Tiffin University, and Cooper Stoneking, who will continue his basketball career at Wilmington College.
Hillsboro Indians
Hillsboro’s signing class featured athletes from bowling and softball. Sidney Bayless signed to bowl at Muskingum University, while fellow bowler Camden Lively committed to Ohio State University. Softball standout Chloe Roberts will continue her career at the University of Rio Grande.
Jackson Ironmen
Jackson once again showcased one of the conference’s strongest groups of collegiate athletes. Headlining the class were football standouts Jacob Allen, who signed with Charlotte University of North Carolina, and Ryan Seimetz, who committed to Ohio State University. Fellow Ironman football player Bodhi Wolford signed with Bryant University.
In soccer, Sydney Carpenter committed to Otterbein University, while bowler Harper Euton signed with Indiana Wesleyan University.
Jackson’s softball program also produced multiple collegiate athletes as KJ Worsham committed to Ohio Christian University and Madilynn Wright signed with Youngstown State University. Serenity Taylor has signed to pitch for Keiser University.
McClain Tigers
McClain athletes earned opportunities across several sports, highlighted by baseball player Easton Ary and soccer standout Creed Davis, who both signed with Wittenberg University.
Bowler Cullen Beatty committed to Shawnee State University, while girls wrestler KC Foster signed with Tiffin University. Swimmer Madi Knowles will continue her career at Wilmington College.
Miami Trace Panthers
Miami Trace produced one of the conference’s largest signing classes, including several high-profile football commitments.
Standout lineman Adam Guthrie committed to Clemson University, while teammates Cooper Enochs signed with Eastern Kentucky University and Westin Dawes committed to Thomas More University.
On the baseball diamond, Austin Brown signed with Muskingum University and Cam Morton committed to Wittenberg University.
Additional commitments included softball player Kaylee Everhart to Indiana Tech, girls bowler Carlee Hauck to the University of Rio Grande, wrestler Tyler Stevens to Otterbein University, and bowler Cole Whiteside to Ohio State University.
Washington Court House Blue Lions
Washington Court House celebrated a large and diverse signing class featuring athletes from multiple sports programs.
Basketball players Jeston Everhart and Noah Haithcock both signed with collegiate programs, committing to Mount Vernon Nazarene University and Otterbein University respectively. Girls basketball standout Eliana “Bobb” Racine signed with Hiram College, while teammate Peyton Hughes committed to Marietta College.
In track and field, Jordyn Gray signed with Colgate University and Megan Mongold committed to Queens University of Charlotte. Cross country and track athlete Avery Wightman will continue his career at Ohio Northern University.
Baseball standout Sam Lotz signed with Tennessee Wesleyan University, while bowler Randon Stolzenburg committed to Wittenberg University.
Washington also celebrated commitments in cheerleading as Lauren Bivens signed with Heidelberg University and Kaitlyn Williams committed to Greenville University for stunt cheer.
The impressive list of commitments highlights not only the athletic talent throughout the FAC, but also the dedication and hard work of the conference’s student-athletes in the classroom and in competition. As these athletes prepare for the next chapter of their careers, they leave behind a strong legacy for their schools and communities throughout the Frontier Athletic Conference.
Chillicothe Claims FAC Boys Tennis Title; Flores Earns Player of the Year Honors
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — Chillicothe captured the 2026 Frontier Athletic Conference Boys Tennis Tournament championship on May 9th at Washington High School, finishing atop the final league standings after a strong showing in both singles and doubles competition.
Leading the way for the Cavaliers was Noah Flores, who claimed the singles championship and was named the FAC Player of the Year following an impressive tournament performance. Flores defeated a talented field to secure the conference title and help power Chillicothe to the overall team championship.
Jackson also turned in a strong performance throughout the day, highlighted by runner-up finishes in singles and doubles competition. Christian Burcham advanced to the singles final before finishing second, while teammate Fernando Villebrille earned third place. Chillicothe’s Elijah Yandilia placed fourth, followed by teammate Yohan Abreu in fifth.
In doubles play, Jackson dominated the bracket as the duo of Grady Massie and Landon Profitt captured the FAC doubles championship. Fellow Ironmen teammates Joel Carroll and Jayce Moore finished as runners-up, giving Jackson the top two spots in the doubles standings.
Chillicothe’s pairing of Malachi Upshaw and Lyric Graves earned third place, while Washington Court House’s Evan Wilson and Austin Hughes placed fourth. Miami Trace’s team of Slade Strider and Holten Pepper rounded out the top five.
The tournament concluded another competitive season for the Frontier Athletic Conference, with Chillicothe securing the overall league title ahead of a strong Jackson squad.

Waylon Massie Named Southeast Ohio Athletic Administrators Association Athletic Director of the Year
The Frontier Athletic Conference (FAC) is proud to recognize Waylon Massie of Jackson High School for being named the Southeast Ohio Athletic Administrators Association Athletic Director of the Year, an honor voted on by his peers.
This prestigious award is presented annually to an athletic administrator who exemplifies excellence in leadership while promoting the values and mission of educational athletics. Mr. Massie’s dedication to student-athletes, coaches, and the Jackson community reflects the highest standards of interscholastic athletics.
Through his leadership, Jackson High School has continued to foster a culture centered on sportsmanship, integrity, and student development. His commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for student-athletes, while emphasizing the educational component of athletics, has made a lasting impact within his school and throughout Southeast Ohio.
“Waylon is extremely deserving of this recognition,” said Joe Kimling, Past President, Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrator Association. “His passion for education-based athletics and his ability to positively influence students and coaches alike make him a model athletic director.”
